Biography: Except for a few short years in Dayton, Kentucky in her early childhood, Mary grew up in Anderson. She was an athletic young girl and captained the softball team during grade school. After school, she worked for the Woolworth Variety Store, formerly in downtown Anderson, before being employed at Delco-Remy. In 1942, she met and married Howard Mason from Frankton and they lived in north Anderson for a time before moving to Alexandria in 1948. For many years Mary served her Lord from the Alexandria Church of God where her family also attends. More recently Mary attended the Christian Congregation Church in Alexandria. She enjoyed caring and nurturing her family and dearly loved the Family of God.

Preceded in death by: Her parents, her husband of 51 years-Howard Mason in 1993, a sister Mildred Birch, brothers-Elmer Aley, George Aley and Robert Aley
Funeral Service Time and Day: A Service of Home Going will take place at 1 pm on Friday, February 26, 2010 in the Alexandria Church of God, 302 North West Street
Officiating: Pastor Tom Schuurman and Pastor Jerry Young
Interment: Will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Alexandria
Visitation: Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday or at the church one hour prior to the services on Friday
Memorial Contributions: May be made to the Christian Congregation Church through the funeral home
