He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War and was honorably discharged in 1968. He worked for both Delco-Remy and Guide-Lamp formerly of Anderson, retiring in 2000 after 33 years of employment. He was a member of American Legion-Post 127 and Alexandria Eagles-#1771. Roger loved cars and was a fan and collector of the Corvette. He was an avid reader and history buff.
