SUMMITVILLE, IN-Clayton V. Parks, 94, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017, in the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette, Indiana following an extended illness.

He was born on June 19, 1923, in Hot Springs, North Carolina to Frank and Mary (Miller) Parks. Clayton has lived in the Summitville/Alexandria area most of his lifetime. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a gunner and was Honorably Discharged in 1946. Clayton had worked as a commercial truck driver at the Kroger Milk Plant in Marion and Best-Ever Dairy in Anderson. He enjoyed bowling, and loved to tinker and take things apart.

Surviving are 2 sons-Don Parks of Anderson, Dustin Parks of Darlington, Pennsylvania, 2 Grandchildren-Robert Parks of Anderson and Kenzie Parks of Darlington, Pennsylvania, 4 Sisters-Cumi, Liz, Mary Lou and Linda. Brother-in-law-Wayne Spencer of Knoxville, Tennessee and sister-in-law-Jean (Glen) Pate of Alexandria, several nieces and nephews

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years-Katherine Spencer Parks in 2005, a sons-Wayne Parks in 2005, a sister-Corey, brother-Hayes Parks

Services honoring Clayton’s life and legacy will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1 PM in the First United Methodist Church, 600 East Walnut Street, Summitville. Pastor Dan Tucker will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery at Summitville. Friends may call at the Summitville United Methodist Church after 11 am prior to the services on Saturday.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Summitville, with envelopes available at the services.
