ALEXANDRIA, IN-Patricia A. "Pat" Barber, 90, Alexandria passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 in her residence following an extended illness.

She was born on November 9, 1926 in Alexandria to Carl and Ruth (Knopp) Miller. She has lived in the Elwood-Alexandria area all of her lifetime and was a graduate of Elwood High School. Pat had worked at Aladdin and Haynes-Stellite both formerly of Alexandria. She retired from the Madison County Government Center in 2007 after working in both the Treasurer's and Assessor's offices for 42 years. She was a member of the Alexandria Eagles Auxiliary, the Aladdin Knights and she attended the Christian Congregation Church. Pat enjoyed time spent at their Dewart Lake home and working outside in her yard.

Husband-Weldon "Jack" Barber-married February 1, 1947
Daughter-Jackie (Terry) Thompson-Peru
Grandson-Andy (Ashlyn) Thompson-Westfield
A great-Grandson is due to arrive next week
Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive

She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother-Goldie Miller

Services honoring Pat's life and legacy will take place at 1 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria with Rev. Fred Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery-Alexandria. Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home after 11 am on Thursday.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Vermillion Friends Church through the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Community VNA Hospice, Kelly Hines, Kassey Hines and Sharon Savage for the kind and compassionate care they gave to Pat and our family.
